TEST DE CONNAISSANCE DU FRANÇAIS (TCF)

The TCF (Test de connaissance du français) is an official French language level test, intended for non-Francophones who wish, for professional, personal or academic reasons, to have their knowledge in French easily and reliably assessed and validated.

No academic qualification or preparation is required to sit for the test.

All TCF candidates receive a certificate which places them at one of the 6 levels (from A1 to C2) of the competency scale defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFRL). It is valid for two years.

THE TCF IS AVAILABLE IN SEVERAL VERSIONS: :
For who ?

Anyone needing, for personal, academic or professional reasons, to evaluate and validate their knowledge in French, in a reliable and recognised way.

Attention: The TCF has been designed for older teenagers (from 16 years old) and adults.

For who ?

Anyone, regardless of their nationality and native language, wishing to initiate permanent immigration procedures with the Quebec Ministry of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion.

The TCF for Quebec has been designed to meet the requirements of the Quebec authorities, which make mandatory and sitting of standardised French tests and exams as part of the procedures for obtaining the Certificat de Sélection du Québec (CSQ) leading to the issuing of a permanent visa. French and French speakers are also affected by this measure.

For who ?

Specially designed for people who must prove their level of French within the context of applying for French nationality.

Offered since January 2012, the TCF for Accès à la Nationalité Française (TCF ANF) was specifically designed to respond to the new provisions introduced by the French Ministry of the Interior (Decree 2011-1265 of 11 October 2011) requiring a B1 level in French for applicants to French nationality.

The French authorities recognise, as a dispensation, the certificates from the all-public TCF  and the TCF for Québec from level B1.

Holders of the following diplomas are also exempt from the test: DELF B1, B2 and DALF C1, C2

How to prepare for the exam ?

Put the odds on your side by participating in our training for TCF ANF (Accès à la nationalité française): 2 hours, from 6pm to 8pm, the Monday before each session. After a presentation of the tests and advice on the expected work, you will be offered training exercises in oral comprehension and production.

You can complete your practice with books offered for sale at reception.

For who ?

For all foreign persons less than 65 years old applying for the first time the issuing of a long-term resident card (valid for 10 years) or a card marked “long-term resident – EU”

The TCF Resident Card will respond to the new provisions introduced by the French Ministry of the Interior setting the A2 level (comprehension, oral and written expression tests) as the level required in French for applicants for the long-term resident card.
